At 11am on 11 November 1918, the guns on the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare and now on the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, a minutes’ silence is observed and dedicated to those soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation.
The Shire of Mundaring is proud to support three Remembrance Day services this year.
Services will be held on Monday 11 November at the following locations with participants observing one minute's silence at 11am to remember all those who died or suffered for Australia's causes in all wars and armed conflicts:
BELLEVUE RSL SUB-BRANCH
Memorial Garden, Purton Place, Bellevue
Hall will open at 10.00am. Service commences at 10.45am with wreath laying. At the conclusion of the service light refreshments will be available.
CHIDLOW RSL SUB-BRANCH
Village Green, Cnr Old Northam and Thomas Road, Chidlow
10.40am gather for a 10.50am service at Chidlow Village Green by the War Memorial.
MUNDARING RSL SUB-BRANCH
Memorial Garden, Great Eastern Highway, Mundaring
10.45am gather for an 11.00am service at Mundaring Memorial Gardens.
